Lesson Tuition

BMC lesson tuition is your monthly payment towards your music lessons and reserves your day/time slot for the upcoming month. Lesson tuition will be paid directly through your teacher. With our rates of $35 per 30-minute lesson, your breakdown in a typical 4-week month will be:

● x4, 30-minute lessons = $140
● x4, 60-minute lessons = $280
● x4, 90-minute lessons = $420

Tuition is collected in its entirety on a monthly basis and during the week of the 21st. Depending on the month, this will typically either be the 3rd or 4th week. If your teacher is absent/out during the week tuition would normally be collected, they will collect the week prior. This is because lesson tuition is always paid in advance to reserve your lesson spot for the upcoming month.

If you are unable to make your tuition payment or if it’s late, you may lose your reserved spot for the upcoming month. Please notify your teacher if you anticipate being late or if you’re unable to make your tuition payment to discuss your options.

Methods of Payment

BMC lesson tuition is collected through the teacher. Because of this, accepted forms of payment can vary. All teachers at BMC are required to accept cash and at least one form of electronic payment (e.g., Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, Credit/Debit card, etc.). Your teacher will inform you of which additional payment methods they accept. We recommend being ready with at least two forms of payment at the time of the lesson.

Communication

Once you’re on your teachers schedule and you’ve received your confirmation email, all future communication will be done directly through the teacher. They will provide you with reliable ways to communicate with them if you need to reach them, and we ask students/parents to do the same. This applies to things like cancellations, rescheduling, collecting tuition and anything else regarding your lessons.

Attendance & Cancellations

Students are expected to show up for all agreed upon lessons. A student's lesson day and time is specifically reserved for that student. However, we understand that life happens and sometimes you will unexpectedly need to cancel or reschedule. We kindly ask that you also consider and respect the time of your teacher and to notify them as soon as you are able.

If you need to miss a lesson AFTER you paid tuition, you will typically be given the options of: a make-up lesson, rescheduled lesson, or applying the lesson credit towards the following month. All options are up to the discretion of the teacher and depend on their schedules. Please keep in mind that teacher availability varies and some teachers may not be available to provide make-up lessons or reschedule a lesson, and that same day cancellations could result in forfeiting your lesson credit.

If you know you need to miss a lesson BEFORE you pay tuition, you will still notify your teacher as soon as you can. The options will be similar with a make-up or rescheduled lesson, in addition to just deducting that lesson from the upcoming tuition. Please keep in mind that if your absence is during the time when tuition is normally collected (during the week of the 21st), you will be expected to pay your upcoming tuition prior to the week of the 21st to ensure your day/time slot is reserved for the upcoming month, unless otherwise stated by your teacher.

If you need to cancel lessons altogether, you will notify your teacher. Depending on when you stop lessons, you may or may not have lesson credits leftover. If you do have credits remaining, your teacher can refund them depending on your specific situation.

If the TEACHER needs to cancel/reschedule, they will give you the same courtesy of notifying you in a timely manner (whether before or after tuition) and offering a make-up lesson, rescheduled lesson, applying the lesson credit towards the following month, or deducting it from tuition entirely (if it’s before tuition collection).
