In 1956, Guild moved their factory from Manhattan to Hoboken. Aside from the change of scenery, the company kept rolling out the same quality instruments. The ‘58 Aristocrat M75 is much like the original ‘54 in many ways. It features a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, rosewood fretboard, “lip top” headstock, and the famous Franz pickups from Astoria. All of these pieces put together made a great looking and lightweight guitar that Jazz players loved for its smooth and mellow sound.
This particular M75 Aristocrat is in pretty good shape for its age. There is some road rash on the body and the binding on the body and neck has begun to crack from age. The original wiring harness (included in sale) was upgraded to a Gibson style harness. Aside from the wiring harness, the electronics are all original, including the Franz pickups. The guitar is currently set up with flatwounds and sounds and plays superbly. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us!
